SDC is an organization dedicated to the advancement of the University of Kentucky. Its mission is to provide educational opportunities to students from the Commonwealth and beyond. Explore this website to understand how current UK students can help achieve that goal.
SDC’s members are motivated students who understand the importance of private giving in providing scholarship, research and other opportunities at UK. We help spread that message through programs like the Graduating Class Challenge and the UK Historical Marker Program. Each year with the support of gifts from the senior class, we raise a historical marker on campus in that class’s honor. Previous markers have recognized Dr. Thomas D. Clark, Lyman T. Johnson, the Kentucky Kernel and the Main Building. We co–sponsor the Best of UK contest with the Kentucky Kernel, participate in DanceBlue, award $10,000 worth of scholarships each year, and we have a lot of fun too!
SDC activities build leadership skills and teach students about the importance of private support for the University of Kentucky. I encourage you to become a member of this organization, create lasting friendships, and leave a mark on your University!
