Fine Arts DV Camera Checkout Rules
- Only students who are currently enrolled in A-S video classes
and are in the FA Video Lab checkout group on
the library's Voyager system may check out cameras.
- Students who are not in the FA Video Lab group cannot check out
cameras, even for use in the lab. Students who are taking an A-S
video class and are not in the FA Video Lab group need to see their
instructor. Exceptions are made only with the permission of the
instructor.
- DV tape decks for public use are available in the Fine Arts Lab, in King
213G, and in the editing
bays, along with the Final Cut Pro and iLife suites.
- Cameras are checked out for four hours at a time and may be
renewed once, unless other students are waiting.
- Overdue cameras acquire fines at the rate of ~14c/min = $8.40/hr
or $200/day.
- Fines must be paid and cleared during business hours. Fines should
be paid in the College of Fine Arts office. A receipt for the payment
must then be given to the Little Library staff or Virginia for
the fines to be cleared. Anyone wishing to dispute a fine must
speak with Virginia. Consultants do not have access to clear fines
from the Voyager system.
- Users may not take extra parts, such as more than one battery
at a time. However, a dead battery may be exchanged for a
charged one during the checkout period.
- Students returning cameras must wait for the camera to be checked
in before leaving the helpdesk area. Any student who does not wait
for a camera to be checked in is responsible for fines incurred
as a result of a late return, missing parts, etc.
- If a camera is returned without all the parts, the camera may
be renewed once to allow the student time to retrieve the missing
parts without being fined.
If you have a question that is not answered on this
page, please talk to the consultant at the helpdesk.
