Purpose:The Pond House Gathering consisted of a series of sessions during which participants worked collaboratively in large and small groups to:
- begin work on the purpose, scope, and potential uses of the Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology Services
- Identify four Functional Areas of high importance to the development and delivery of assistive technology services of consistently high quality.
- Develop a plan for sharing the drafts and inviting the participation and involvement of many people with a variety of experiences and perspectives on assistive technology services.
Expected Results:
- A reasonable number of Functional Areas would be identified
- The first draft a set of Quality Indicators would be developed and approved by the group
- The Quality Indicators would be: legal and ethical; realistic and efficient; involved conclusions linked to data; and, serve the needs of users
- Opportunities for sharing the work and expanding involvement would be identified.
Evaluation:
The Pond House Gathering was considered successful because, by its close:
- Functional Areas identified and descriptions were drafted and approved by consensus
- Quality Indicators for each area were drafted and approved by consensus
- At least two expansion opportunities were identified - Closing the Gap and TAM
Quality Indictators in four Functional Areas - Consideration, Assessment, Implementation, and Evaluation of Effectiveness - including practical examples of use and common errors
