Six Degrees of HOMEFRONT

 

The following is a list of instances when Homefront cast members appeared together (or separately) in other TV series and movies.

 

·        Mimi Kennedy (Ruth), Tammy Lauren (Ginger), and Sammi Davis (Caroline) participated in a charity walk for the Spondylitis Association of America in Encino, California, on May 16, 2004.

·        Harry O’Reilly (Charlie) guest-starred in multiple episodes of the Lifetime seriesWild Card (2003-present), written by Bernard Lechowick and Lynn Marie Latham.

·        Hattie Winston (Gloria) guest-starred in 2002 and 2004 episodes of Ken Jenkins’s (Mike) NBC series Scrubs (2001-present).

·        Wendy Phillips (Anne) and Ken Jenkins (Mike) both had small roles in the Sean Penn-Michelle Pfeiffer movie I Am Sam (2001).

·        Dick Anthony Williams (Abe), Tammy Lauren (Ginger), and Montrose Hagins (Grandma Davis) all guest-starred in separate episodes of the CBS series That’s Life (2000-2), which was penned by Homefront writer-producers Bernard Lechowick and Lynn Marie Latham.

·        Jessica Steen (Linda) and John Slattery (Al) played husband and wife in the 2000 short film The Ride Home.

·        John Slattery (Al) and David Newsom (Hank) both appeared on separate 1999 episodes of the CBS series Judging Amy (1999-present).

·        Harry O’Reilly (Charlie) and John Slattery (Al) both guest-starred in separate episodes of HBO’s Sex and the City (1998-2004).

·        David Newsom (Hank) and John Slattery (Al) both guest-starred in separate episodes of NBC’s Will & Grace (1998-present).

·        John Slattery (Al) guest-starred in a 1998 episode of Hattie Winston’s (Gloria) CBS series Becker (1998-2004).

·        Ken Jenkins (Mike) guest-starred in a 1998 episode of Kyle Chandler’s (Jeff) CBS series Early Edition (1996-2000).

·        Mimi Kennedy (Ruth) and Wendy Phillips (Anne) both starred in the short-lived prime-time soap Savannah (1996-7).

·        Giuliana Santini (Gina) and Dick Anthony Williams (Abe) both guest-starred in separate episodes of CBS’s JAG (1995-present).

·        Harry O’Reilly (Charlie) starred (opposite Jennifer Lopez!) in the short-lived TV series Hotel Malibu (1994), a spin-off of the equally short-lived Second Chances (1993-4), which were both written by Homefront writer-producers Bernard Lechowick and Lynn Marie Latham.

·        As a tip of the hat to Homefront viewers, Mimi Kennedy (Ruth) played a real estate agent in the first scene of the first episode of Second Chances (1993-4), Lechowick and Latham’s next series after Homefront.

·        Wendy Phillips (Anne), Giuliana Santini (Gina) and Jessica Steen (Linda) all guest-starred in separate episodes of NBC’s ER (1994-present).

·        David Newsom (Hank) guest-starred in three episodes of Kelly Rutherford’s (Judy) FOX series Melrose Place (1992-9).

·        Tammy Lauren (Ginger), David Newsom (Hank), and Giuliana Santini (Gina) all guest-starred in separate episodes of NBC’s Sisters (1991-6).

·        Alexandra Wilson (Sarah) and Ken Jenkins (Mike) both guest-starred in separate episodes of FOX’s Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990-2000).

·        Kyle Chandler (Jeff), David Newsom (Hank), and John Slattery (Al) all guest-starred in separate episodes of ABC’s China Beach (1988-91).

·        Sterling Macer Jr. (Robert) and Ken Jenkins (Mike) both guest-starred in separate episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-94).  By the way, both Homefront and Star Trek: The Next Generation’s final episodes were entitled “All Good Things.”

·        Tammy Lauren (Ginger) and Mimi Kennedy (Ruth) played daughter and mother in the Disney TV movie, Bride of Boogedy (1987).

·        Alexandra Wilson (Sarah), Jessica Steen (Linda), and Kelly Rutherford (Judy) all appeared on ABC’s daytime soap Loving (1983-95).

·        Montrose Hagins (Grandma Davis) played a character named “Mrs. Sloan” on a 1987 episode of NBC’s Hill Street Blues (1981-7).

 

·         …And while we’re talking of cast member connections, as of Dec. 28, 2000, Jessica Steen (Linda) was dating David Newsom (Hank), who played her brother on Homefront, and referred to him as her boyfriend (http://www.jessicasteen.com/askjess_122800.html).
